Tess Hartwell has over 20 years in the food industry and a lifetime of eating experience. Growing up on the central coast of California, she has been a happy resident of New England, living in Arlington, MA, for over 7 years with her husband and two children.
Responsible for shaping the Taste of WGBH Food & Wine Festival since 2014, Tess focuses on sourcing local, specialty purveyors and chefs who are conscientious, passionate, and create consumables so good you want to cry. She travels to the far corners of the 6 New England States regularly, making it a personal mission to know where all the best of the region comes from. She also treks far and wide (sometimes by bicycle) to find lesser known and charming wines to introduce to the local market. In her spare time, she tends to the nano-farm located in Arlington, where she grows Chardonnay grapes, a multitude of hops, and enough produce to weather a short apocalypse.
